Sector expertise
Raed Barkatis is an experienced investment professional with over ten years of expertise in private equity and investment banking. He currently leads Helios’ consumer non-discretionary strategy, identifying and executing investment opportunities aligned with Africa’s strong demographic and urbanisation trends. Since joining Helios in 2018, Raed has been instrumental in executing transactions across diverse sectors, including education, retail, healthcare, FMCG, and agribusiness.
Prior to Helios, Raed worked in Investment Banking at Credit Suisse in London, where he gained significant experience in financial analysis and transaction execution. He is a graduate of the MiM Grande École program at ESCP Europe in France.
A Tunisian national fluent in Arabic and French, Raed brings a global perspective and local insight to his role at Helios, supporting the firm’s mission to create transformative value across its portfolio and within African markets. Outside of work, Raed enjoys hiking and travelling, finding inspiration in exploring new landscapes and cultures.
