Dennis Aluanga

Dennis Aluanga joined Helios in 2011 as a Partner in the Portfolio Operations Group, bringing over three decades of experience in operational leadership and strategic execution. Before joining Helios, Dennis was Chief Operating Officer for East Africa at Industrial Promotion Services (IPS), the manufacturing and infrastructure arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. There, he oversaw diverse investments spanning industries such as food processing, packaging, pharmaceuticals, textiles, steel, power generation, and telecoms across East Africa.

Earlier in his career, Dennis held several senior roles at Nation Media Group, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Group Finance and Strategy Manager. His leadership contributed to the growth of NMG’s expansive regional operations across newspapers, television, radio, magazines, and digital media.

Dennis serves on multiple boards, including Acorn Holdings and Nation Media Group, and has held directorship roles at Telkom Kenya, Vivo Energy Kenya, and Helios Towers Tanzania. He has also served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Equity Group Holdings and Wananchi Group. Dennis holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
